After 10 years as a full-time photographer, Amanda Kossina has learned that building a successful photography business takes so much more than creating beautiful images. It’s about creating an experience clients remember, value, and want to return to year after year.
In this class, Amanda will share her journey from leaving her career in television and taking the leap into full-time photography to building Kossina Creative into a luxury, full-service portrait studio with a team. She’ll talk candidly about the lessons she’s learned along the way, including the growing pains, mistakes, and pivotal decisions that helped transform her business over the last decade.
Amanda will dive into what it really takes to create a luxury client experience, from the first inquiry to the final delivery. She’ll share how Kossina Creative has built systems, elevated its service, created an experience that goes far beyond the photos, and developed relationships with clients who return year after year to document each new chapter of their lives.
Whether attendees are working toward going full-time, ready to elevate an existing photography business, or looking for ways to create more loyal and valuable client relationships, this class will provide practical ideas they can implement in their own businesses while reinforcing an important lesson Amanda has learned firsthand: sustainable success isn’t built overnight.
Topics included:
Creating a luxury experience clients are willing to invest in
Turning first-time clients into lifelong clients
Elevating the client journey
Building a brand that stands out in a crowded market
Learning when and how to grow a team
The biggest lessons learned from 10 years of running a full-time photography business

The catch? Phones only!
We’re leaving the professional cameras and gear at home. This isn’t about settings, equipment, or technical perfection. It’s about seeing creatively, thinking outside the box, and working together to create something fun.
Once time is up, we’ll reconvene at the restaurant for dinner and drinks, share our favorite images on the big screen, vote for our favorites, and crown the evening’s winners.
Expect awards, bragging rights, and at least a few photos that probably shouldn’t make anyone’s portfolio.

Today, Angela specializes in high school seniors, families, maternity and motherhood, children and teens, personal branding and professional headshots, editorial portraiture, and small events throughout Winter Garden and the greater Orlando area. Her style blends timeless portraiture with a modern, editorial feel, emphasizing true-to-life color, beautiful lighting, flattering posing, and genuine connection.
What truly defines the Palm Portraits experience is the level of personalization. Angela works closely with clients before their session to plan wardrobe, locations, styling, and the overall vision. With both studio and location photography available, an extensive client wardrobe, and more than two decades of experience behind the camera, her goal is to create an experience that feels relaxed and highly individualized while producing polished, heirloom-quality portraits designed to last for generations.
